Rams QB Sam Bradford could be a viable option for Vikings if released February 19, 2014 - 10:38am The Minnesota Vikings' search for a new signal caller could turn to St. Louis where the Rams are staring at QB Sam Bradford's high cap number with the option of starting over with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft.Bradford's $17.6 million cap number in 2014 is 'elite' money usually reserved for the Tom Brady's or Peyton Manning's of the NFL world.Bradford was one of the last drafted before the new rookie contract deals under the old CBA and his pay is way out of line from his production, however, he has all the tools to become a quality starter under the right cap number. If Bradford was released, he would be looking for a new deal and would be a solid upgrade from even the no. 2 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.Bradford is coming off ACL surgery, but was playing up to his expected skill level when he was injured.According to Michael Rand of the Star-Tribune, Bradford could be worth the risk if he becomes available.Rand writes:Rams coach Jeff Fisher tried to quell speculation over that scenario, though, with an appearance on Mike and Mike. Per SI.com:“Sam’s doing great with the rehab,” Fisher said. “He’s really excited. He took on a leadership role last year and he’s maintained that and he’s our quarterback, and we’ve said that.” Fisher would not commit, however, to a new contract for Bradford, who will count $17.6 million against the Rams’ salary cap this year. Some reports have suggested that a new contract is likely, other reports have suggested that a new contract is unlikely, and Fisher says he’s not sure where any of those reports originated.Fisher's seemed to tread carefully, trying to navigate a a good answer that wouldn't back him in a corner... http://network.yardbarker.com/author/article_external/15821728?headline=rand_rams_qb_sam_bradford_could_be_a_viable_option_for_vikings_if_released&sport_name=nfl
Bradford is not going anywhere....but the Rams will treat him this year like the Bucs did with Freeman last year before his meltdown.....sink or swim.
No, don't want him. But I fear the Rams will take Watkins.
If I was them I'd definitely dump Bradford. Just like the Bucs, who knows when they'll have another to ten pick to replace him.
Bradford has worked with some subpar talent, IMO. He is no great shakes. Did t like him coming out of OU either. Nothing special about him except he is ideally framed.
He is worth a look on the cheap. He was having his best season last year before getting hurt.

Exactly ....Bradford isn't worth the money he's paid. Not even close.

It would also save them $10.5M. Only thing I will say in his defense is that he was looking much better pre-injury last year and if we live in a world where Tony Romo is worth $18M and Joe Flacco $20M then Bradford at $17M isnt too far off.
Pretty sure we already have a water boy, so what would be the point?
