yes please.
id even consider a third.
That’d be massive for our pass rush.
Would be awesome, but how would we afford him? Isn't his prior trade and this trade request related to him wanting $25 mill plus per year?
I’ve seen this, and I would love to see us grab an edge like Hassan Reddick, but as BC alluded, I don’t think he fits the cap management profile.
Also, I think the Jets are pretty determined to keep him. So the first problem is availability. The next problem is would do we have the will, or the time, to pull off something like this?
Could we do it? Probably, but we’ve already heard from the FO that the current cap is set. We’d also have to restructure Vita, and fresh off the Wirffs timeline, I don’t get any sense of urgency that they have a plan to do this.
As I said, I wouldn’t have a problem with it if the HC/JL wanted to, but I got the sense early in the process that they didn’t think that the player was worth the cash he wanted.
He's holding out for a new contract. He's not going to play until he gets it. So the draft pick is relatively unimportant. You have to decide if you want to give him the contract.
Locked on Bucs just did a podcast about it as well.
yeah like others have said it, he’d help no doubt but doesn’t sound realistic unfortunately with our cap situation.
I would say hell to the no. He's on his 4th team since being drafted in '17. There must be something about him that makes teams willing to get rid of him after only 2 years...
This team is 1-2 years out to be trying such moves IMO. I would say no but if they can hash out a more reasonable contract it is possible. But Arians and Bowles know about Reddick and really haven't tipped their hand on any interest at all.
While it would be great to get a pass rusher of his caliber, he is looking for a big payday and would handicap the cap.
Ok, hope Kancey isn’t injured…but if so, things just got desperate… what’s Reddick’s phone number again?
Jason Pierre Paul is 35 years old, turned to crap in 2021 when he was 32 years old
Shaq Barrett is 31 years old. Returning from injury in his age 30 season and was ineffective and now retired
Haason Reddick is 29 years old and is a stud. Double digit sacks the last 4 seasons.
Signed a 3 year deal, $45 million deal with the Eagles back in 2022. Has 1 year remaining.
Eagles traded him this off-season to the Jets and he is not reporting because he wants a longer term deal
so yeah, on paper, given his production would be potentially great for our pass rush but given he wants a long term contract and the fact that it's likely not be fruitful to the organization in that contract, no way we would reward him with a deal.
We'd obviously want what the Jets want....see how you do on this 1 year deal and that franchise your ass in year 2 until father time gets you. So he likely has to make it work with Jets if he wants to continue playing football but all it takes is 1 dumb and desperate team.
We rewarded AWJ and Wirfs this past off-season and only players of note coming due next year are Chris Godwin and Lavonte David.
Our dead cap space also coming down next year so we should be in a better position to try and re-tool in 2025 offseason. I mean are two biggest free agent acquisitions of the last 2 seasons have been a flier on Baker Mayfield and returning Jordan Whitehead. Not saying free agent frenzy works all the time but look at some key contributors on that 2020 superbowl squad - Brady, Fournette, Gronk, AB, Jensen, Suh, JPP (trade), etc.
I think the Judon trade just increased Reddick’s price.
Glad we passed.
We had our chance at Reddick in free agency years ago. Licht gave you the bad Barrett contract, the bad Jensen contract and JTS.
