Maybe, but we won 4 games with the team being a complete trainwreck for most of the season. I think Glennon is decent enough with good coaching and a solid defense to have us drafting mid-rounds barring any disasters. Which might not seem so bad but if that's his ceiling then we will be farther away from being in position to draft a top guy. It's hard to pass on a guy that could be a franchise QB and say "next year" when who knows where you'll be picking and who knows what the circumstances could be.
Fair points Brad. I just don't think any of these QB's in the 2014 draft are all that. Its the tallest midget argument, picking the best QB in this upcoming draft.
Trouble is, I don't see any QB in the draft worth that risk. Go with Glennon, if he falters, aim for Winston in 2015. I think the 2015 draft class will be better for QB prospects.
i don't see any Top QB at #7 in this draft (i want a top LT Matthews/Robinson or trade down) but if Lovie & Tedford think Bridgewater or Carr is the next Brees they have to take the kid!there is no way we have a shot at Winston(or Mariota) next year... you need the 1st pick in 2015!you see Lovie Smith's Bucs having a 0-16, 1-15 or 2-14 season?
If one of the three QB's is there at 7, you take them. I don't see them being there. But, we won't be bad enough next year to have a shot at Jameis or Mariota. Unless we take Grap in the second round this year, we may be lame ducks at the QB position for a while.

Who knows? A lot can happen. David and McCoy could go down in training camp, injuries could pile up. And if Glennon fails, that is a recipe for the top pick. Who would of thought the Texans would be picking #1 this year? And they managed that, with lots of good players on their squad, including the DPOY in Watt. S___ happens.

I seriously doubt lovie will risk anything with glennon.With that being said, he has three choices after glennon, draft qb in first round, draft qb in second round, or FA for a vet.Given lovie's history, he won't take too much of a risk at qb and will probably want a veteran. Not what I want, but something I believe he would do.Imo, the best outcome for him would be to leapfrog to get manziel, then sign allen.
