Would you pull a "Patriots" with GMac?

"I'd rather get rid of a player a year too soon, than keep him a year too late."

Let's say we reach week 8 with a mediocre/below .500 record and Licht has somehow been given an extension prior to mid-season; Would you trade GMac for max value, which would probably be a 2nd round pick at most? Or would you prefer to keep him in place to add value for the next HC and staff?
