Tim Wright thanked entire Buccaneers staff after trade to Patriots by Josh Hill SI.com 3h ago . The Tampa Bay Buccaneers acquired Logan Mankins from the New England Patriots the other day but as a result they had to give up promising tight end Tim Wright. Wright’s time in Tampa Bay wasn’t lengthy by any means but he was starting to show a lot of promise at becoming a next-gen style receiving threat for the Bucs — something they’ve been lacking. Luke Stocker was a bust, but the arrival of Austin Seferian-Jenkins this year via the draft has given Tampa Bay the threat they need. Wright is a class act though, and went as far as to return to the Buccaneers facility after the trade — when he didn’t have to — in order to thank the entire staff for his time with the team.
Wright’s time with the Buccaneers wasn’t long but he’s clearly a talent that the Patriots coveted which says a lot about him. What says even more is that he thanked the entire staff after his trade when he didn’t have to, which also says a lot about the impact Lovie Smith and his crew have had in their short time in Tampa Bay.
