Because it was multiple teams sayin the same thing.

Which teams?

Can't name names, but it was 7-8 teams total.  I agree with you, if it was 1 team, it could easily be put in the smokescreen folder.

Who said it was 7-8 teams?

My dad has been at the combine for a week or so. Those type guys talk all week. That is all they have to do, talk.  Its like Christmas for them, Every team in the league is there, its not often they get to smooze like that.

I think you are confusing him with Manziel, whose style of play puts him in much more danger of getting injured than Bridgewater's does. Speculation was that he was going to be under 200 and he showed up at 214, and will probably continue to add muscle. This "he is going to get injured because he is skinny" doesn't really fly. He is going to be a pocket passer. You can compare him to Russell Wilson in size when he first came into the league. Wilson weighed 206 at 5'11..which puts him at 2.90lbs per inch. Bridgewater weighs 214 at 6'1 which puts him at 2.89lbs per inch. Not buying the injury thing with Bridgewater.

I feel that way about both of them TBH.

How many games has Russell Wilson missed due to IR?

He is solid.  Different build.

Not sure how that argument can be made when comparing them at their pre-draft stage.2018090476.Jpg Teddy-Bridgewater-Bigger-Combine.png

You can get away with that, when you have #99 out there with you.

I can think of several successful offenses that dont have that brash, fiery type of leader. TB will be fine if being "quiet" is his only negative.

Teddy just spent a month or so packing on pounds at IMG in Tampa. So I would take that as, his agent thinks it is a problem.

I hear ya, but you need a leader SOMEWHERE on the field.  If it can't be your QB, you better have someone out there that can fill that role. And Gerald is not that guy either. You need that certain personality.  And hopefully, its from the QB position.

...and it should no longer be a problem as these guys tend to continue to add weight and sometimes even grow after being drafted. Fact is, when looking at both of them pre-draft...they have VERY similar builds.Other QBs with similar pre draft weight - Alex Smith - 217 and nearly 3 inches taller...too skinny?Matt Ryan - 217 and also 3 inches taller...too skinny?I'm not buying this "too frail" argument....especially after he puts on weight and solidifies his frame.

"One question that had been growing about him was his size. He weighed just 205 pounds last season at Louisville, but he explained that. His sophomore year, he had a procedure done in which his jaw was broken to fix an overbite. He was 222 pounds, then lost almost 20 pounds because he couldn't eat solid food for two months. He had trouble putting that weight back on, but he has gained nine pounds already this offseason and is up to 214."Don't let facts get away of the bullshit you're conjuring

Weight is a number. It's how you're built that matters. In terms of qbs, injuries will be part luck, part approach, part elusiveness. Each of the top 3 has issues. In the end we are only speculating and the Bucs must go on gut instinct. I'd say this is one of the tougher calls given our draft position. I really won't be upset if we go Donald or Ealy or Lee and skip the qb.

I believe lovie would wait and take whoever is left at 7.The only reasons I have to believe that, are the new gm's history, and lovie's (he's never really shown that he would do anything for a qb).I'm cool with that, but going and getting "his/tedford's guy" should be numero uno on the need list. They may feel carr is "their" guy, and that scares me a bit. I feel better that lovie's running the show, but carr is about as average in the nfl as glennon. If they can get the butter from the duck, idc who that duck is or what they spent on it.

Bridgewater, Bortles, honestly I'll take either.. I have a feeling Tedford wants a project, and Bortles or Carr may be that guy..

I'm really not giddy about any QB in this draft, but if I had to choose one it would be Teddy.  His poor interviews (if they even were) could be the fault of a bad agent that didn't prepare him or just a small town kid with a case of nerves.  Being nervous doesn't make him stupid.  In my experience with people its usually the exact opposite- stupid people usually don't think enough to ever be nervous.  I'm impressed by that picture of him to be sure.  He knew teams were concerned about his weight and busted his butt to bulk up.  To me that shows he cares.

I don't know how you can watch Bridgewater play, watch Bortles play, and walk away thinking that Bortles is better. I'd like Bortles at 7, but not if Bridgewater is still on the board. But he most likely won't be. Houston and Oakland might pass on a QB, but no way do both Cleveland and Jacksonville. There would be riots in the streets in both cities.

Teddy may have played better than Bortles up to now. But its Bortles upside that is intriguing.    IMO

I remember hearing that about Ryan Leaf. Manning had the polish. You knew what you were getting, but Leaf had the "high ceiling." I'm always skeptical of these unproven players with "high ceilings." Sometimes there's a reason they didn't put it all together in college. The draft is already a gamble without the Bucs drafting a high risk/high reward guy.
