You be the Bucs GM: Quarterback  16694604816_6B6561F5Ee_O.pngBuccaneers.comOnce considered the Bucs’ future QB, former third-round pick Mike Glennon has had mixed results.By Roy Cummings | Tribune Staff Published: March 4, 2015    The Tribune analyzes the Bucs’ needs, position by position, leading up to the start of NFL free agency.•Wednesday: Quarterback•Thursday: Linebacker•Friday: Running back•Saturday: Offensive line•Sunday: Defensive line•Monday: Receiver/tight end•Tuesday: Defensive back The NFL calendar officially flips to 2015 with the start of free agency. A three-day negotiating period begins Saturday, allowing teams and prospective free agents to begin the matchmaking process. On Tuesday, contracts can be signed. With at least $33 million in available salary cap space, the Buccaneers are expected to address a number of needs as coach Lovie Smith and general manager Jason Licht look to fix the mistakes of a 2-14 season in 2014. We’ll provide analysis of the position and list the players to consider. So, here’s your chance, Bucs fans. Tell us what you would do.QUARTERBACK The Bucs could use some veteran help here. The only quarterbacks on the roster are Mike Glennon and Seth Lobato, and only Glennon has NFL playing experience. He doesn’t have all that much, though. The team’s 2012 third-round draft pick played in 19 games the past two years, but results were mixed. That’s why the Bucs are expected to address their need for quarterback help with the No. 1 pick in the draft. But that doesn’t mean the Bucs won’t look for help in free agency. They might need a short-term starter and are certainly going to need a long-term backup. Glennon could fill both roles, but it’s hard to know what the Bucs think of him anymore. Once the designated “quarterback of the future,” Glennon remained on the bench while the Bucs sank down the stretch last year. Was that to protect Glennon’s health and confidence, or his trade value? Free agency might offer the answer.Bucs under contract for 2015Mike Glennon — Now it seems his future will be as a backup.Seth Lobato — Little-known player seems little more than roster filler.Bucs potential free agentsNoneNFL potential free agentsBrian Hoyer, Browns — Not unfamiliar with the role of a bridge QB.Jake Locker, Titans — At 27, still has upside, but can’t stay healthy.Colt McCoy, Redskins — Can move a team, when healthy.Mark Sanchez, Eagles — Effective in short spurts as a starter.Matt Moore, Dolphins — Knows and accepts role as a backup.
