The bucs played the so called worst defense in the league and only threw it 32 times and that's including quarter of play. Think about this, Mariota threw the ball 33 times and his RBs carried the ball 26 times to the bucs 24 and the Titans had a 100 yard rusher. Koetter put faith in 3rd and 4th string RBs over his "Franchise QB." I can see about being conservative when playing great defenses and secondaries like the Broncos and Cardinals, but the Raiders? Inexcusable! Jameis was like 10/15 with no turnovers before the half. He was playing fine. The Bucs with multiple TOs decided to not even attempt to score. If you don't believe in your QB and have him questioning his ability of course he's going to overthink things and let his head get in the way of his performance. Jameis is a rhythm QB and the coach is not letting him sling it to get into the rhythm. Jameis is deadly in Hurry up offenses and 2 minute offense but the coach is sucking the life out of him by not allowing him to play to those strengths. Newsflash Coach Koetter you can run the ball out of an uptempo offense as well. Sometimes Jameis deserves criticism, and days like today he doesn't.
Kid threw for 400+ yards against the Rams. Who has done that since? Did you see Eli against them with the weapons he he has? Did you see Russell Wilson against them? Rams have scored no more than 30 pts against anyone, Tampa let them put up 37. Cam Newton, the reigning MVP was 14/27 against the Cardinals with those weapons at his disposal and they easily won. The coach losing confidence in this kid two subpar games against great defenses is ridiculous. With fans and coaches like Jameis has, no wonder he doubts his own ability.
Allow him to sink or swim. Stop handcuffing him. If he doesn't develop and keep making the same mistakes over and over, we'll know what his future should be with the team. The QB will either win or lose games for this team so let him sling. The Bucs don't have the Broncos defense stop pretending that we do.
