I was a big fan of Jonathan Greenard last offseason, now that we have money and ILB is a possible need.... we need to get Zach Baun. I'm thinking something like 12m/year. A lot of good film and I think he will fit in just fine. Good hips, coverage, blockshedding and instincts really showed up this year. I dont think its a fluke 1st team all-pro. Will help us out with our issues. Sure you got SVD waiting but he has a bad shoulder, and LVD is older. Draft picks are a premium especially if you can get a solid outside corner with a 1st/second. For 12m its cheap in salary cap numbers compared to paying a high end corner or end, but he can make a huge impact in shoring up our deficiencies and has the ability to make the big play
Dunno if he will be that cheap coming off of an all pro year, sadly.
15-17 aav wouldn’t surprise me at all.
not sure what Phillys cap situation is like but franchise tag is an option for them as well.
Baun was a nobody who just found the right niche. I'm a little dubious about writing a big check for a guy like that.
Not worth the risk vs what he will demand

He actually changed position just this year because fangio saw how he moved like a MLB, happened to be an all pro move.
Sure fire guys dont come on the market often, like Greenard who was a one year wonder, the tape the movement speaks to his on field playing ability and the sparse interviews will give you the best insight of his character and if hes a lockerroom guy.
I think Baun would feast in this defense
Im definitely a no risk it no biscuit kind of guy
He's a lot better than what we have right now, but he's not worth breaking the bank over. So we'll see. I think Licht will open up the wallet a little bit this offseason.Baun was a nobody who just found the right niche. I'm a little dubious about writing a big check for a guy like that.

Considering we will likely need 2 starting caliber ILB with LVD more than likely retiring, I’m all for it. We can focus on DE/CB in the draft.
That said, I would make a run at Crosby and see what we could make happen…

Why would raider trade a top 5 edge rusher?

Teams do dumb things. Jared Allen was traded when he was 26. Khalil Mack was traded when he was 27. Cardinals drafted Simeon Rice 3rd overall, he had 51.5 sacks in 5 years and we were able to sign him when he was 27 for 1 year, $1M.

There’s no telling what the new regime will want to do moving forward. They aren’t winning anything anytime soon. They may look to move their best current asset for future assets. They may tell you to kick rocks, but it’s worth a check-in.
Spytek already said something along the lines of not letting Top edge rushers go while he was here with the bucs, so doubtful he lets him go.
Carroll makes them a playoff contender possibly year 1 but year 2 they will definitely be in the conversation

Maybe... Just seems unlikely
Maxx will be more expensive than Myles…and the short/quick passing game does seem to have somewhat mitigated elite edge rush (which it was designed to address). Not sure we dedicate that much to pursue Maxx Crosby or Myles Garrett.
Hopefully Licht understands that the facts show they can NOT develop edge rushers - and that they have a plan to bring in legit edge help.
Still think Hendrickson would be a great target. Will be interesting to see what happens.
Why not go with Ojulari and Browning to add to Diaby and Braswell? Need a rotation than anything else and then you draft Green with the first round pick.
