Read-Option: Pick Your Class
Right now Washington defensive tackle Vita Vea is projected to be a mid- to late-first round pick. The Bucs don’t have a late first round pick, but they do have an early second round pick. However, I doubt that when the time comes around their No. 38 pick in the second round Vea will still be there.
That means it’s going to be decision time if this is a guy they really like.
I’ll give this week’s read-option to you like this.
Option A
– The Bucs hold on to No. 7, give themselves a chance at drafting defensive end Bradley Chubb or guard Quenton Nelson, miss out on drafting Vea, but draft either a lesser pass rusher or running back at the top of the second round.
Option B
– Trading back from No. 7, but still in the first round, picking up Vea and have an extra second-round pick from the trade back.
Option C
– Guarantee dumping Baker’s contract and having extra money to play with in free agency, but drafting Vea at No. 7 and keeping No. 38 open for best player/player preference.
In the first scenario, I’m saying they’re either getting one or the other – Chubb or Nelson – so if you’re choosing that option, you can chose which guy they’re getting.
In the second option, Vea is the first choice in the first round, but you’ll have two second-round picks, including the one at No. 38. Have any other Top 50 players you’d like them to scoop up with Vea?
And in the third I’m letting your free agency wishes have a better chance of coming true while still getting Vea, but at No. 7, which might be an overdraft.
Let’s hear it. Which option do you want?
