Read Option: Four Square

For this week’s read-option, I’d like to get your imagination going as to what this offense can be.

On the previous page we discussed the four common two tight end sets in today’s NFL – though there is plenty of room to get creative outside of those four.

My question to you this week is which one you think the Bucs can have the most success in? Knowing that Brate and Howard are going to be the two top tight ends on the depth chart to use in most two tight end sets (ones that don’t call for extra size on the goal line that would favor someone like Stocker), which formation intrigues you the most?

Is it both of them in-line getting match ups with linebackers? Is it with Brate always in the slot with Howard on the line? Is it with Brate in-line and Howard as an outside receiver in the red zone? Or maybe it’s with Howard as an H-back who could be a potential lead blocker?

Get the imagination flowing and your offensive coordinator cap on for this one. Where do you see the Bucs tight ends being the most successful this season?
