With all the NFL records that Tom Brady has broken this season, there’s not much more he can accomplish. Brady knocked off two more milestones in last Sunday’s win over the Bills when he became the all-time pass completions leader (now at 7,156) and also threw his 700th career touchdown pass. There’s another accolade that he can add, though, by winning his fourth MVP.

Brady looks to be the frontrunner this season, in an MVP race that has less candidates than usual. But does head coach Bruce Arians think so? On Tuesday, Arians was asked about Brady’s MVP candidacy on the Dan Patrick Show.

“Right now I believe he is,” Arians said. “I don’t know if anybody is playing any better or is anymore important to their team.”

Brady currently leads the league in passing yards (4,134) along with touchdown passes (36). His adjusted quarterback rating of 67.7 and average yards per game of 318 is also tops in the league this year. This is all while the Bucs lead the league in passing yards and points per game. I’d say that’s a pretty good resume for the 44-year old to win another MVP.

“I don’t know if anybody knows more (about the game) than him,” Arians said. “The amount of snaps that he’s taken under center and processed so much information over the years. I don’t know if there’s any quarterback or coach that knows that much.”

It seems like it’s a two-man race for MVP between Brady and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who won the award last season. Rodgers has thrown for 3,219 yards and 27 touchdowns in 12 games. Not only are these two the top candidates, but many believe they’re on course for a rematch in the NFC Championship game.

A player of Brady’s stature doesn’t have to prove anything anymore, and yet he still is one of the hardest workers in the league. That determination is a huge reason for his seven Super Bowl championships, and the potential to add another.

“There’s a fire in him,” Arians said. “He comes to practice like he’s 15-years old. He can’t wait to practice and he can’t wait to go out there and do fundamental drills. Stuff that bores most people, he’s into it every single day. That fire burns, and then it’s all about championships with him.”
