With his 19 yard catch in the first quarter of the Bucs vs. Falcons game, Mike Evans has broken the Bucs records for receiving yards in a single season, surpassing Mark Carrier’s 1,422 yards in 1989.
Now at 1,437 yards and counting, this new record is another notch on a season where Evans has had a slew of record breaking performances. Earlier this year, he became the team’s all time career leading receiver in both yards and touchdown receptions, and was also only the third receiver in NFL history to start off their career with five straight seasons with 1,000 yards or more.
While having the new single season record in this game, it’s also a personal career high in receiving yards for Evans. He holds the record for almost every receiving statistical category in Bucs history. The only record he has left to break is James Wilder’s all time receptions lead.
