Although it’s not as big of a deal as it used to be before the rookie wage scale was established in the most recent CBA agreement, it is still news when a team officially signs their first pick in a yearly draft.
For the Buccaneers, that is defensive tackle Vita Vea, who inked his four-year, $14.82 million dollar deal on Thursday.
Vita Vea, the 12th overall pick, will receive a four-year contract worth $14.82-million that includes an $8.861-million signing bonus. The deal is fully guaranteed and includes a club option in the fifth year.
