It was a quick reunion to Philadelphia for Vinny Curry as he signed a one year deal with the Eagles worth $2.25 million on Thursday, Ian Rapoport reports.
Curry spent one year with the Bucs last season, playing in 12 games while notching 2.5 sacks and recording 21 tackles in that time. He originally signed a three-year deal worth $23.5 million with Tampa Bay, but after missing time due injury and Carl Nassib having a career year, the Bucs felt it was best to move on from Curry and save $8 million on the cap.
Before playing on the Bucs, Curry began his career with the Eagles and played six years for the team, which culminated with a Super Bowl Victory at the end of the 2017 season. Growing up in New Jersey, he now returns back to the team he rooted for as a child.
The #Eagles are signing old friend Vinny Curry to a 1-year deal worth $2.25M, source said. He gets an additional $1.25M of upside based on incentives. The #Bengals brought him in recently, but he opted to return home to Philly. https://t.co/kjgFKD3NQU
