It appears that Tom Brady isn’t the only Bucs player that can have an early retirement. Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network has reported that former Bucs wide receiver Cole Beasley has come out of retirement and signed to the practice squad of his old team, the Buffalo Bills.

Beasley, who is most known for playing many seasons with Cowboys and Bills, had a very brief stint with the Bucs this season. He signed to Tampa Bay’s practice squad in Week 3 and then was called up to the active roster to play in Weeks 3 and 4. Beasley recorded four catches for 17 yards overall with both games ending in a loss.

The next week Beasely decided to retire stating that he was ready to be a “full time dad and husband.” Evidently something changed his mind on that subject and he’s back to being a full time football player again. Beasley returns to the Bills where he spent three seasons with the organization. They have a 10-3 record and are in first place in the AFC.
Beasley Comments Quick Stay With Bucs
Beasley had an interesting tweet in early November commenting on his time with the Bucs. In a response to a question, Beasley said that he was never going to get much playing time based on the salaries of some of the other receivers in the room. He later deleted the tweet.
Wasnt bc of the writing on the wall. He knew where he stood in the WR room and it wasn't at the top. pic.twitter.com/53LhUKd5T3

Without saying it, this could be interpreted as a reason Beasley retired, considering he’s now back in the league just two months later. It’s an odd sentiment for Beasley to make this reply considering he knew the situation he was getting into when the Bucs signed him.
At the time, Mike Evans was suspended for the game against the Packers and Chris Godwin and Julio Jones were out with an injury. This made Russell Gage Jr. as the number one receiver with Scotty Miller, Breshad Perriman and Beasley getting playing time.
However, Evans, Godwin and Jones all returned the following week in Beasley’s second game. Not expecting any of these player to come back in order for yourself to get more snaps kind of sounds like a big oversight. One would think that this was the situation up front when signing.
