Shortly after the Bucs announced the elevations of Breshad Perriman and Daniel Fells, the team received more good news. According to Greg Auman of The Athletic, wide receiver Chris Godwin is expected to play Sunday against the Washington Football Team.
Bucs expect receiver Chris Godwin to be able to play Sunday vs. Washington. Big boost for offense with one of Tom Brady’s top targets able to go despite foot injury.

Godwin first popped up in the injury report on Wednesday with a foot injury. Limited on Friday after not practicing Wednesday or Thursday, Godwin’s progression was encouraging. After Friday’s practice, head coach Bruce Arians alluded that he would be a game time decision.
“We’ll see how he is tomorrow,” Arians said. “He looked okay today, so we’ll see how he is tomorrow.”
Apparently Godwin showed enough to be able to play through the injury he sustained against the Saints in Week 8. The veteran receiver turned in his best performance of the season in that game, recording eight receptions for 140 yards and a score. He’s been a pivotal part of an offense that boasts the league’s best passing and scoring attack. Godwin’s 50 receptions and 660 yards are most on the team, while his four touchdowns are tied for second.
Following the bye, Tampa will try and start the second half of the season on the right foot. With the way he has played this season, having Godwin available will help in securing a victory. The Bucs take on the Washington Football Team at FedEx Field on Sunday.
