According to multiple reports, the Jacksonville Jaguars are requesting to interview two Bucs coaches for their head coaching vacancy. Per the Tampa Bay Times Rick Stroud, the Jaguars have asked for permission to interview offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich. ESPN’s Adam Schefter quickly added that defensive coordinator Todd Bowles is on Jacksonville’s list too.
Jaguars also have requested permission to talk to Bucs’ DC Todd Bowles, per source. So Jacksonville is interested in both Bucs’ coordinators. https://t.co/0X0teLCV9A

Jacksonville fired Urban Meyer a few weeks ago, becoming the second NFL franchise without a head coach. Leftwich has long been rumored to be of interest to the Jaguars, as a former starting quarterback in Jacksonville. The Bucs play caller wasn’t interviewed by any teams searching for head coaches last offseason. But, after leading the NFL’s top offense, Leftwich figures to generate plenty of interest this year.
Bowles is looking at a second possible stint as a head coach in the NFL. He went 26-41 as the Jets’ shot caller for four years. He was considered a strong candidate for the Lions’ job last offseason, but ultimately the interview was canceled. On August 4, Bowles signed a contract extension to remain with the Bucs.
The Bucs return to action on Sunday, when they take on the New York Jets in Week 17. Tampa Bay can still capture the No. 2 seed in the NFC.
