According to a report from Greg Auman of The Athletic, the jersey numbers for some of the Bucs’ recent free agent signings have been made official.

The new wave of jersey numbers for the Bucs began last month with running back Leonard Fournette. After wearing 28 for Tampa Bay in 2020 and 27 over his three seasons in Jacksonville, Fournette moved to No. 7, the number he wore at LSU. This change came as a result of the NFL’s new rule that loosened the restrictions on numbers that could be worn by certain position groups.
Following Fournette, the Bucs newest group of draft picks were given their numbers.
OLB Joe Tryon: No. 9
QB Kyle Trask: No. 2
OL Joe Hainsey: No. 70
WR Jaelon Darden: No. 1
LB K.J. Britt: No. 52
CB Chris Wilcox: No. 29
LB Grant Stuard: No. 48
Safety Raven Greene will take No. 41, last worn by linebacker Deonne Bucannon after being signed late last season due to injuries at the position. Greene last wore No. 24 for the Packers.
No. 53 for Joe Jones was last worn in 2020 by former draft pick Chappelle Russell. Jones wore No. 43 when he was with the Broncos.
No. 38 for Nate Brooks was last worn by safety D’Cota Dixon and No. 46 for LaDarius Hamilton hasn’t been worn since 2016 by linebacker Austin Johnson. Brooks wore 17 with the Ravens and Hamilton wore 76 with the Cowboys.
