Pewter Report’s Josh Queipo is taking you through the Bucs’ All-22 film to see the things that are easy to miss from the live television feed. With this unique access to Bucs tape you can view the game like the coaches do and elevate your understanding of the team by seeing the subtleties like never before.

Enjoy Josh Queipo trying to get your attention with a poor outline of a pass rush lane using Microsoft Paint rather than going with the much more obvious (and funnier) pun off of Markees Watts’ last name that titles this article.

Bucs Have Growing Trust In Markees Watts

Markees Watts may be more than just a designated pass rusher, and how the Bucs may have already figured that out. Per Pro Football Focus Watts dropped into coverage on five of his 11 defensive snaps. Compare that to fellow situational rusher Cam Gil who has only dropped seven times in 31 snaps this year. Head coach Todd Bowles and the Bucs staff seem to be very comfortable with Watts being used in multiple ways when he gets on the field.

Markees Watts Maximized His Pass Rush Opportunites

Given just six rushing opportunities Watts was able to get to Titans quarterback Will Levis twice. And while he didn’t record a sack, he was able to impact not one, but two different passes resulting in an Antoine Winfield Jr. interception and another near pick. Those reps led to him recording a 16.7% pass rush win rate and a full 20.0% on true pass rush sets.
