Latest Bucs Headlines

We say this after every loss, but this time it might be more true than ever.

It’s tough to find impressive performances when a team gets blown out so bad that the head coach says everyone should be fired afterward, as was the case following the Bucs’ 48-10 loss in Chicago. However, there are always a few bright spots — even if it’s only a few — even in defeat.

These were our most impressive Buccaneers in the team’s one-sided loss in Chicago.

WR DeSean Jackson
There weren’t many players who lived up to their expectations on Sunday, but DeSean Jackson was one of them. Jackson had long catches of 42 and 48 yards, which were part of his five-catch, 112-yard performance.

Jackson seemed to be the only spark this offense could muster up against the Bears, but as a weapon that really struggled to get going all of 2017, it’s good to see that, even in defeat, the Bucs can still hit the long ball each week with Jackson on the receiving end.

DE Jason Pierre-Paul
This was a bad day for the Bucs defense, but if there was one player who we could single out, it would be JPP, who had a good game, all things considered.

Pierre-Paul had a team-high six tackles, which was impressive enough as a defensive lineman. He also had one sack. Pierre-Paul’s four sacks on the season give him the team lead, and have him on pace to finally break the double-digit sack curse this team has had since Simeon Rice.

P Bryan Anger
It’s never a great thing when your punter is one of your most impressive players — that means that the offense is stalling and you’re having to use your punter quite a bit.

Anger had five punts for 214 total yards with one inside the 20. After a year where he really struggled, Anger seems to have at least bounced back to a reliable level.
