Ian Rapaport reported on Monday that the New York Jets have requested an interview with the Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator, Todd Monken.

As offensive coordinator and the offensive play-caller for the Bucs this year, Monken led Tampa to one of the most prolific offenses in the league.
The 2018 Bucs offense ranked third in the NFL with 415.5 total yards of offense per game and led the NFL with over 320 passing yards per game behind four different 750+ yard receivers this year in Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson, Chris Godwin and Adam Humphries. O.J. Howard was also able to amass 565 yards in just 10 games before ending his season on the injured reserve.
In addition to his work with the Buccaneers, Monken also worked at the NFL level as the wide receivers coach in Jacksonville from 2007 to 2010. His work in the NFL and over 20 years coaching at the college level – including two years as head coach at Southern Miss before joining Tampa Bay – recently landed his name on a list of potential head coaching candidates created by the NFL’s Career Development Advisory Panel.
