There is more clarity to some questions and overall topics that fans wanted to know about the rest of the NFL offseason and into the regular season. The league announced a number of key dates in 2023 and 2024.
NFL Roster Cuts & Trade Deadline

Pertaining to the roster cuts before the start of this year’s season, teams will have until August 29 to get their roster down to 53 players. Each organization will have until 4:00 p.m. EST. The Bucs should have a couple of tough decisions to make when trimming down their roster this year.
Their decisions should include how many wide receivers to keep after their top three, which undrafted free agent safeties will join Antoine Winfield Jr. and Ryan Neal in that room, who wins the kicker competition, who’s going to be the fourth linebacker and what corners make the roster to play in the slot.
The cuts come 12 days before the start of the regular season where the Bucs begin on the road against the Minnesota Vikings on September 10.
In terms of other dates that could directly impact a team, this year’s trade deadline will be on Halloween, October 31. The Bucs haven’t made an in-season trade since October of 2020 when they acquired defensive tackle Steve McLendon and a seventh-round pick from the Jets in exchange for a sixth-rounder. But trades during the season have become more common and you can never rule out general manager Jason Licht making a move.

NFL Dates For 2024
Other big announcements are set for 2024 in the NFL. A high interest time in the NFL is the legal tampering period that happens in free agency around the middle of March. That will begin on March 11 at noon EST.
Not long after that, the yearly NFL Annual Meetings will return to the state of Florida, presiding in Orlando from March 24-27. Last year it was in Arizona, and the year before that it was at The Breakers resort in Palm Beach.
That was a very memorable time for the Bucs’ franchise because then head coach Bruce Arians did not speak in front of media due to a personal issue. Then days later, Arians resigned as head coach to give that opportunity to now-Bucs head coach Todd Bowles.
And of course, everyone enjoys diving into draft season. The NFL Draft will take place in Detroit next year on April 25-27. The league has started going to different NFL cities each year with the fan base of the Lions getting it next.
