What is a player from Fort Hays State doing in the first round? He’s being selected where he should be selected.

Shepherd has one crazy story. In another life, he could have very well been a five-star, blue chip prospect coming from Texas or USC or something. But, instead, a small high school not known for football, a position change, financial woes and other outside factors led to Shepherd barely being on any radar before the Senior Bowl. While at the Senior Bowl, he shined like no prospect I’d seen before.

Shepherd plays the run like a cruise ship anchor and rushes the passer with a relentless motor and surprisingly good technique. Right now I’d say he’s one of the top interior defensive linemen in this draft class.
