The Pick: Jaire Alexander, CB, Louisville
It feels like the Dallas Cowboys have been dancing around fixing the top of their corner back situation for some time. They drafted Byron Jones in 2015, but he’s become more of their safety starter. They drafted Chidobe Awuzie and Jourdan Lewis last year, and I like both of them, but are either really a shut-down type? I’m not sure for a No. 1 corner – that’s what I mean by dancing around.
Alexander’s talents seem to be forgotten. When healthy, he was one of top corner backs and top overall athletes in all of college football. He has the skill and the mentality to be a shut down player. Picking him would solidify their defensive back spots across the board.
