No. 2: New York Giants (3-13)
The Pick: Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA
The Giants are in a unique and somewhat desirable position. They have Eli Manning at quarterback, who is aging, but is an experience signal caller who they can commit to for a bit. That gives them the chance to draft a younger quarterback, perhaps one that needs some time to develop, and have the luxury of making a smooth transition when passing the franchise quarterback torch.
Rosen is likely the most pro-ready quarterback right now, but rookies are still rookies. Even if Rosen doesn’t start the season, there’s a chance that the extra time for him could be worth it.
Whether he starts in 2018 or 2019, Rosen would be the choice here for the Giants and sustained longevity.
