No. 6 Indianapolis Colts (4-12) via NYJ
The Pick: Bradley Chubb, DE, N.C. State
OK, now here’s where the fun really starts with the trades.
How did Indianapolis end up at No. 6 you ask? We originally had them trading back with the Arizona Cardinals to spot No. 15 for a first- and two second-round picks. With all four quarterbacks and Nelson gone, I have Colts general manager Chris Ballard making moves once again, this time moving up with the Jets, who don’t have a Top 10 QB option on the board, to make a deal that swoops them in front of the Buccaneers for Bradley Chubb.
The move would likely cost the the Colts one of their extra second-round picks, but to end up with the player they originally wanted and an extra second-round pick either this season or next would be masterful GM work.
