After Bucs defensive coordinator Todd Bowles confirmed an upcoming interview with the Atlanta Falcons earlier this week, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo has reported that the Detroit Lions also have interest in bringing in the former Jets head coach for a sit-down.
The #Lions have put in a request to interview #Buccaneers DC Todd Bowles for their vacant head-coaching position, sources say. Interview not scheduled yet as the sides wait for the outcome of tonight’s game but Bowles expected to meet with Detroit and the #Falcons.

In reference to his interview with the Falcons, Bowles responded by saying, “Right now, I’m focusing on the playoff game. That will come in time and I will deal with that then.” As Garafolo has reported, nothing is scheduled with Detroit right now, but the expectation is that step will be completed soon. Bowles isn’t thought of as the favorite in either Atlanta or Detroit, but the fact that he continues to get interview requests shows that NFL teams remain interested in his abilities as a head coach despite a 24-40 four-year stretch with the Jets.
