Bucs quarterback Tom Brady has signed Shedeur Sanders, Deion Sanders’ son, to an NIL (name, image and likeness) deal to represent his BRADY brand apparel line, according to PEOPLE. Sanders made news when he de-committed from Florida Atlantic to play quarterback for his father at Jackson State University, an historically black college/university. Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has been the head coach at Jackson State since 2020.

“Shedeur Sanders is the perfect ambassador for BRADY,” said Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. “He embodies everything we look for in a BRADY athlete and his character and values align perfectly with our brand.

“Not only is he an exceptional football player and quarterback but he is one of the most influential players of his generation, and we’re thrilled that he’s officially joining the BRADY family.”

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Shedeur Sanders is a sophomore starting quarterback for the Tigers. As a four-star recruit he received offers from Florida State, Georgia, Alabama and Florida.

“Tom has been a longtime mentor to me, both on and off the field and I’ve been a fan of his apparel brand since its inception, so this partnership feels like a natural next step,” Sanders told PEOPLE. “I couldn’t be more grateful and excited to join the list of world-class athletes that represent the brand.”

Sanders Looking Like A Future Pro Prospect

Sanders completed 65.9 percent of his passes for 3,231 yards with 30 touchdowns and eight interceptions as a freshman. This year, Sanders has completed 73.2 percent of his passes for 1,713 yards with 17 touchdowns and two interceptions. The Tigers are off to a 5-0 start, keyed by a 59-3 win over Florida A&M on opening day when Sanders passed for 323 yards and five touchdowns.

Sanders’ deal with BRADY is not his first endorsement deal. He has also signed NIL deals with Gatorade and Beats By Dre. Sanders became the first HBCU player in history to sign an NIL deal.
