Latest Bucs Headlines
It was always going to be difficult for the Bucs to get many of their players back on a short week playing against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night and on the road. As it happens to be, everybody that was either ruled out for Sunday’s game in Week 4 or got injured in the game are also out for Week 5 this Thursday.
Todd Bowles Rules Out 5 Bucs
Following practice, Todd Bowles said that right tackle Luke Goedeke (concussion), defensive tackle Calijah Kancey (calf), Antoine Winfield Jr. (foot), and wide receivers Trey Palmer (concussion) and Jalen McMcillan (hamstring) are all out. Goedeke and Winfield have been out since after game one. Kancey has yet to play this season. McMillan tweaked his hamstring on the last Friday practice ahead of Week 4 and Palmer suffered a concussion in the game.

There was some hope that maybe Goedeke would be able to return. He was seen today at practice with a helmet on and moving around in some offensive lineman drills. Goedeke was listed as a full participant, so it’s a step in the right direction. Nonetheless the short week hurts the Bucs. Bowles had also mentioned that maybe two of the players out, with Kancey being one of them, could have had a chance to play if it was a Sunday game. Presumably, Goedeke would be the other considering his level of participation.
Here is the Wednesday injury report for the Bucs. The Falcons have yet to release theirs for Thursday.
