Should Jackson Be Back Next Year: Yes
And that brings us to the finale.
After answering each of the question above, one question then remains, because even though i think that Jackson’s disappointing year and the headlines his name has made aren’t of total detriment, the reality is what it is. So, if it’s underwhelming, is it worth it to keep Jackson around.
I say yes, for a few reasons.

For one, the team can’t just move on from Jackson, even if they wanted to. He three-year deal is loaded to the front, but he’s still owed guaranteed money for next season, which means cutting him would come at a price. If they wanted to move on form him after the 2018 season, they could without contractual penalty, but not next year as it would result in a $7.5 million dead cap hit.
And beyond that, as you can deduct from my answers above, I think Jackson, along with the rest of this offense, needs a new voice. I think Jackson still has plenty left in the tank to be able to help this team move the ball, sore some points and ultimately win football games, but I don’t think it’s going to happen under this current regime.
Jackson should be back in action in 2018, I just hope it comes with a new voice orchestrating his talents and Winston building off a fantastic finish to his 2017.
