The Bucs are certainly riding some momentum going into the bye week. Tampa Bay started off its season with a 3-1 record after defeating the Saints, 26-9, in New Orleans on Sunday, led by another strong defensive performance.
Bucs head coach Todd Bowles has shown a lot of emotion post-game in the Tampa Bay locker room after wins this year, and continued that on Sunday after the win. Bowles’ message to the Bucs was publicized by the team after the game.
There were some who felt the Bucs were going to sink to the bottom of the NFL without Tom Brady and would be selecting in the Top 10 in the 2024 NFL Draft. This also meant that Bowles would be on the hot seat and let go after this season if Tampa Bay didn’t improve over last year’s 8-9 record.

So far, Todd Bowles and the Bucs are proving a lot of people wrong, and maybe that’s why we’ve seen a little more jubilation from the head coach when he talks to the team. Of course factoring into the equation is the fact that the Bucs just beat the Saints, their hated division rival, to move into sole possession of first place in the NFC South, and there’s more reason to justify it.
“That’s a hell of a team win,” Todd Bowles told his players after Sunday’s win. “On the road against a hell of a ball club. By double digits.”
Because the Bucs are off next week with the bye, his victory speech was also a message to everyone on how to stay ready for the week after. He also emphasized that this is still just the beginning of a long journey to go.
“Take care of yourself,” Todd Bowles said “We’ve got to get healthy. We’ve got three more quarters to play in this thing.”

Todd Bowles’ Gets The Whole Group Going

Bucs head coach Todd Bowles has gained a lot of fanfare for screaming out “Yeah!” after the Bucs come away with a victory. He first let out a primal scream after a Week 1 upset win in Minnesota.
So naturally he did it again after Sunday’s 26-9 victory in New Orleans. Then inside linebacker Devin White and nose tackle Vita Vea broke it down for the t eam.
“What’s the one word that describes this win?” Bowles asked.
He and the team both belted out “YEAH!” at the top of their lungs in unison.
The Bucs’ 3-1 record speaks for itself. At this point, they have every reason to be shouting to the roof tops about what this team is capable of becoming this season – possibly three-time champions of the NFC South.
