It was a new experience for everyone as the Bucs traveled to Germany in the first ever regular season game in the country. It turned out to be great trip for the Bucs as they defeated the Seahawks 21-16 to win their second game in a row.

Tampa Bay also happens to be an undefeated when defensive tackle Akiem Hicks is able to play. He’s been available for four games this season including the last two over the Rams and Seahawks. The Bucs have seen significant improvement to the defense with him in the lineup.

Bucs Defense Is Shaping Up

Although Hicks was brought in for his pass rushing ability as an interior defensive linemen, they’ve benefitted on this one win streak from stopping the run. They limited the Rams to 65 rushing yards in Week 9 and the Seahawks to just 39 yards in Week 10 last Sunday. On top of that, they held Kenneth Walker to just 17 yards on 10 attempts.

In Sunday’s game, Hicks was mic’d up for the event, which the organization has put on their website. In the video you see a very excited player, who is constantly laughing both during plays and on the sideline watching his teammates. One of the best parts of the video is Hicks’ reaction to the stiff arm by Rachaad White on Quandre Diggs, which was one of the top highlights from the game.

Overall, the veteran defensive lineman made four tackles and one quarterback hit in Week 10. The hope moving forward is that Hicks can stay healthy for the remainder of the season with a bye week coming up next. Tampa Bay is continuing to work towards a playoff spot and will need him down the stretch. They are currently in first place of the NFC South, leading by one game.
