Bucs safety Antoine Winfield Jr. is known by his teammates for not being a man of many words, but when he talks and is fired up, they respond. Winfield, one of the team’s newest captains this season, was mic’d up during their last game against the Texans and it was a chance to hear how he motivates the guys around him.

While his play does most of the talking on Sundays, it was refreshing to hear Winfield’s reactions in key moments. Before the game, he was fired up and asked receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin if they were “Ready to rock n’ roll?” while saying to them: “Let’s get this money man.”
With the way Winfield has performed this season, there is no question he will be getting his money with a new deal as he has been the team’s unquestioned MVP with the amount of plays he has made. He had another early on against Houston.
On the Texans’ first drive, inside linebacker Lavonte David forced a fumble and Antoine Winfield Jr. showed off his instincts by quickly scooping it up. He then asked outside linebacker Shaq Barrett who caused it and chased down and found David on the sideline to celebrate.
Unfortunately, there were not many other big moments for the defense as they gave up 39 points to C.J. Stroud and the Texans’ offense. Still, it was a rare chance to hear Antoine Winfield Jr. on gameday and the way that he keeps the game light by encouraging his guys and being humorous while doing so.
