The Bucs raced out to a 24-3 halftime lead against the Bills and and watched Buffalo tie the game late in the fourth quarter. Tampa Bay won the game in overtime, 33-27, thanks to a touchdown pass from Tom Brady to Breshad Perriman. That victory improved Tampa Bay’s record to 10-3, which is the best best start in franchise history. The game against Buffalo was a true measuring stick, as the Bills are a playoff-caliber team. Tampa Bay’s record at home improved to 6-0 at Raymond James Stadium.
Here is a list of the most impressive Bucs this week.
QB Tom Brady
Brady picked up three first downs – with his legs! – in the first quarter. Brady rushed for 17 yards on four carries to start the game, including a season-high 12-yard scramble. Brady would score a rushing touchdown – his second of the year – to help give the Bucs a 24-3 lead in the second quarter. Before that, Brady found Mike Evans with a perfectly thrown 13-yard strike above a Bills defender for a touchdown. Brady struggled in the second half, missing several throws as the Bucs only scored three points in the second half and allowed the Bills to come back in the game. But Brady didn’t commit any turnovers, and his 58-yard touchdown to Breshad Perriman in overtime was the game-winner.
WR Chris Godwin
Godwin started off the Bills game red hot, just like a week ago in Atlanta. He caught three of Brady’s first four throws of the game for 28 yards. Godwin also had a 20-yard catch-and-run in the first quarter to give him four catches for 48 yards. At halftime, Godwin had seven catches for 91 yards. Godwin finished with 10 catches for 105 yards.
WR Breshad Perriman
Perriman has struggled to produce in the previous games he’s played for the Bucs this season. But he came up huge in overtime with a 58-yard catch-and-run touchdown to get the win for the Buccaneers. Perriman beat linebacker Tremaine Edwards on a crossing route and used his speed to break away for his first touchdown this season in Tampa Bay – and perhaps the most important TD of the season for the Bucs. Perriman had a drop earlier in the game, but finished with one catch for a 58-yard touchdown.
RB Leonard Fournette

Fournette took his second carry of the game 47 yards for a touchdown to give Tampa Bay a 7-0 lead. That was his longest carry as a Buccaneer. Fournette also had a 16-yard catch to move the Bucs into the red zone in the first quarter, setting up a 23-yard field goal by Ryan Succop to give the Bucs a 10-0 lead. Fournette had 71 yards rushing at halftime and finished with 113 yards on 19 carries and his score.
WR Mike Evans
Evans caught Brady’s first touchdown pass of the game – a 13-yard pass in which he went up and hauled in a jump ball. He also made a nice, 20-yard catch right by the sidelines inside the Bills’ 5-yard line that set up Brady’s 1-yard scoring plunge. In the second half, Evans hauled in a big 24-yard catch. He finished with nine catches for 91 yards and a TD in the win over Buffalo.
ILB Devin White
White came into the game with two sacks on the season, but added another 1.5 sacks against Buffalo’s Josh Allen in Sunday’s win. Tampa Bay’s defensive captain was excellent as a blitzer and finished the team with a team-high 10 tackles.
OLB Shaq Barrett
Barrett had a 7-yard sack on the Bills first possession, setting up a third-and-17 situation that resulted in a punt. That sack gave Barrett 8.5 on the year, which was more than he had last year (eight). Barrett and inside linebacker Devin White split another sack on Buffalo’s next series to reach nine sacks on the season, which is the most in Tampa Bay. He finished the game with three tackles.
CB Richard Sherman

Sherman stepped in to replace Carlton Davis III for a snap right before halftime and came up with his first interception of the season. The pass was underthrown and Sherman went to the ground to get it.
DE Pat O’Connor
O’Connor came up with a huge 3-yard tackle for loss on a Bills fake punt attempt on fourth-and-2 at the Buffalo 42-yard line in the third quarter. The Bucs’ special teams ace tackled Matthew Breida to create the turnover on downs for Tampa Bay and halt any Buffalo momentum.
K Ryan Succop
Succop was perfect on his extra points and field goals against the Bills on Sunday, which was important as Buffalo tied the game in the fourth quarter and sent it to overtime. Succop’s field goals came from 23-yard and 24-yard out, which was nothing outstanding, but necessary.
