After throwing four interceptions and getting benched in the third quarter, Jameis Winston faced the music following the loss to the Bengals. Listed below are his comments about the Bucs game.

(On if there were other factors with his passes sailing high)
“No it can’t really. I just know I got to take care of the football. Face it, that’s really all. I just got to fix it.”

(On the wind causing problems)
“I can’t speak on Mother Nature, you’re going to play games like that. I just can’t turn the ball over, I got to fix it.”

(On his turnovers and inaccuracy)
“I think I just got to fix it. I just can’t play like that. Having balls all over the place, not giving our team a chance to win, I just got to fix it.

(On winning last week with a turnover margin of minus three, but losing today with the turnovers at minus four)
“Today I threw a pick-six. Our defense stopped them, I didn’t throw a pick last game. What has to change is I have to go back in to the drawing boards and start executing. I think that’s the biggest thing, I’m executing but I’m turning the ball over. That’s obviously something I will never stop getting better at.Once I start doing that, we’ll be rolling.”

(On what it felt like to get benched)
“It was very humbling, but it’s not about me. It’s my fault that they were in this position, he had to make a decision and Fitz came in and fought his tail off. Our offense responded greatly and we came back and tied that game up and we gave ourselves a chance.”

(On his second interception if he didn’t see the defender)
“No, that was just a bad decision. I saw him the whole way, that was just a really bad decision and I’ll be shooting myself in the foot for a long time. That was a really really bad decision.”

(On if there is something that’s a common factor for all of his interceptions so far this season)
“I can’t find a common factor, my main thing right now is finding a solution to eliminate them. I know that I’m definitely the reason why we came up short with this game. I own that, and I have to fix it, there’s not much that I can really say, but I can’t turn the ball over. Not four, not one, not two, I need to give our self a chance to win.”

(On if he thinks he gives the Bucs the best chance to win next week)
“Everytime I go out there I think I give our team the best chance to win, but I have to back that up. I know who I am, I know who I am as a player, I just have to execute.”

(On if he fears not having the starting job next week)
“I fear nothing but god. I just know that I have to fix this problem, and I will, I know I will. It don’t come with being scared, it comes with looking yourself in the mirror, taking a long hard deep look at myself and bouncing back from this. I will persevere, definitely.”

(On if the first interception that was intended for Mike Evans was a miscommunication)
“No, I think it was a high ball, it just sailed on me and went right to the defender. But again it’s not excuses, just got to eliminate them so we can win games. I think my turnovers has been a big factor in our play this season, so I got to eliminate that.
