It was reported that Florida State S Derwin James was visiting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as one of the Bucs 30 private visits they’re allowed to have before the draft. But, James wasn’t the only one in the building on Wednesday.
According to a report from NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, Washington defensive tackle Vita Vea was also visiting the Bucs on Wednesday.
#Washington DT Vita Vea is visiting with the Tampa Bay #Bucs today on a pre-draft visit, source said. Then, he’s off to the #Packers tomorrow. TB picks No. 7, GB picks 14.

PewterReport.com has been on the Vea and Tampa Bay train since January, where we first learned that there was a high interest from the team. By signing free agents like Beau Allen and Mitch Unrein, interior defensive line is less of a pressing need, but don’t let that lead you to believe the interest in Vea is suddenly gone — and, yes, that means with their first pick.
