It was reported that Florida State S Derwin James was visiting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as one of the Bucs 30 private visits they’re allowed to have before the draft. But, James wasn’t the only one in the building on Wednesday.

According to a report from’s Ian Rapoport, Washington defensive tackle Vita Vea was also visiting the Bucs on Wednesday. has been on the Vea and Tampa Bay train since January, where we first learned that there was a high interest from the team. By signing free agents like Beau Allen and Mitch Unrein, interior defensive line is less of a pressing need, but don’t let that lead you to believe the interest in Vea is suddenly gone — and, yes, that means with their first pick.

I admire you for dying on that train at least.

Vita Vea could be there in the second round 39th pick possible, not probable, Bucs most likely will take “DB Minkah Fitzpatrick” or possible “Derwin James” both should be there for the 7th pick. It will be Bucs choice. Nelson- Barkley- Chubb will be gone by Bucs 7th pick.

I agree Trevor. If people think licht wont go dline in the first now they havnt been watching successful defenses lately. Pressure creates good dbs, not vice versa. Take a look at the last super bowl. No pressure and not one of those good corners on either team could stop the forward pass. I think Licht learned alot last year, and wont be fooled again. Gota pressure and keep em fresh. I’m all for Vea or another Dlinemen in round 1. Ideally Licht will trade back for once this year so they can address 3 or 4 positions in first… Read more »

I’m all for trading back to 11 or 12 and taking Vea.

Awesome. Maybe too high at 7, but he reminds me of Sapp.

DT Vita Vea’s full name is Tevita Tuliakiono Tuipuloto Mosese Va’hae Faletau Vea. This would blow the top of one Emerson Eugene (Gene) Deckerhoff’s head. Would be worth the price of admission if Vea becomes a Buc. Lol.

Thanks for the kind words scubog, but like you Google is my friend. I’m sure like you, me, and our other PR posters, there is enough going on in the world and our lives to turn one’s smile down from time to time. I choose not to bring that to this forum. Your words ,btw, makes me want to blush which for me is no easy task. lol. Have a great day, my friend!

seat26,he reminds you of sapp, vea had 5 tfl the whole year, sapp had that in one game at the u.

No way he reminds anyone of Sapp! Sapp was a GREAT pass rusher; Bea is not. While I really like him, in my opinion the signing of Beau Allen makes him somewhat redundant. If Nelon, Chubb and Barkley are gone I think they should take James or trade back and take Davenport or the Alabama DT.

I think this is a guy you bring in in a trade back scenario. I don’t think with our moves this off season, there is any way we take him at 7. We do need to look at Mccoy’s replacement at some point.

I can’t think of anyone who is this big, fast, agile, & strong coming out of college in a long time if ever. Never can have to many QB Killas. Big mans game. QB must go done hard. Any one remember Steve & Jerry going down in the same game the Raymound during the Dungy days. what a sight.
