As the Buccaneers began their final practice before flying to Nashville to face off against the Titans, quarterback Ryan Griffin was dealing, just as he did in the preseason game versus the Dolphins.
#Bucs QB Ryan Griffin was operating with the second team. He drove them down to the 20 yard line with this pass over the middle to Howard.

On the second-team — we’ll get to the first-team in a minute — Griffin looked sharp and drove the Buccaneers down the field with the final play getting them within striking distance thanks to tight end O.J. Howard. Though they didn’t punch it in for six points, kicker Chandler Catanzaro did nail the 42-yard field goal.
Then there was the first-team offense, led by quarterback Jameis Winston. Their start wasn’t as solid.
#Bucs QB Jameis Winston was in with the first team for the first scrimmage portion of practice. He threw two passes: a bad miss to Humphries over the middle, and this interception.

Winston’s start to practice was not great, in fact, it was bad — no use sugarcoating it.
On the first two throws of Winston’s day, he overthrew an easy pass to wide receiver Adam Humphries over the middle and then threw an interception directly to cornerback Ryan Smith after that.
It was about as bad of a start as you could see for Winston on the first-team, which he doesn’t get many reps on due to his upcoming suspension.

But then Winston did what he always seems to. He went from ice cold to piping hot with a beautiful deep ball pass to wide receiver Chris Godwin once the team moved indoors.
Winston has been a hot-and-cold quarterback for the last three years. Today was both the good and bad, once again, of Winston.
#Bucs practicing some Hail Mary plays. QB Ryan Griffin went deep to the right side of the end zone and TE Tanner Hudson brought it down! pic.twitter.com/nEEtzmnGc3

On a high note (for the offense), the Bucs actually practiced a Hail Mary play before they went inside and it actually connected. Griffin launched one to the right side of the end zone and tight end Tanner Hudson came down with it.
You hope the team isn’t in that situation much, but it was fun to see it completed.
