Speaking to reporters on Wednesday from the NFL Scouting Combine, Bucs GM Jason Licht said the team wants to keep both defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and wide receiver DeSean Jackson, calling both of them, “very good players.”
McCoy was a first round draft pick in 2010, and is third all time on the Bucs sack list with 54.5 only behind just Hall of Famer Warren Sapp and Simeon Rice.
#Bucs GM Jason Licht said DT Gerald McCoy has been one of the Bucs’ all-time best. Licht said he would love it if McCoy would continue being a Buc.

McCoy is slated to earn $13 million in 2019 and some had speculated the former Sooner star could be a cap casualty as the Buccaneers currently sit with only $16 million in cap space.
McCoy’s spot on the team in 2019 appears safe, but Jackson’s is still up in the air.

Jackson was signed as a free agent during the offseason in 2016 and in two seasons with the Buccaneers, has caught 91 passes for 1,442 yards and seven touchdowns.
New Bucs head coach Bruce Arians back in January stated he was hoping to talk to Jackson and have him back with Tampa Bay in 2019.
Jackson is set to earn $10 million.
