The Bucs made an adjustment to the contract of one of their best players on Tuesday as NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero is reporting that they have restructured the contract of wide receiver Mike Evans. In this restructuring, the Bucs created $3.2 million for cap space by converting $4 million of his base salary into a signing bonus.

Evans was scheduled to be paid $20 million this season, but restructured his contract earlier this year down to $16.8 million for insurance purposes. Evans signed a five-year $82.5 million extension last season.
Evans is coming off a Pro Bowl year where he had 86 receptions, eight touchdowns, and a career-best 1,524 receiving yards. He broke the Bucs’ all-time receiving yards record last season, and now stands at 6,103 career receiving yards.
