After some discussion about his teammates Jameis Winston and Mike Evans, Godwin then went into why he uses the hashtag “12SZN” as a source of inspiration.
“That’s a thing I’ve been doing for a while now,” Godwin said. “I think it’s very significant for me. I think it’s kind of a mindset for me, kind of like my time is now, not to wait for it, for anybody, just try to get me mine and work for it. Everytime I put twelve-season, that’s more focus on me, and I’ma work to get mine.”
The former Penn State receiver also gave his outlook on the 2019 season with some personal goals in mind.
“I’m excited about this season,” Godwin said. “I’m excited about what the season could bring for myself, I’m excited what this season could bring for my team. I feel like if I go out and do what I need to do, obviously as a receiver I can be over 1,000 yards. I feel like I could of been there last year, so me just trying to get to that point, I think me doing that would really help our team. Like I said, I’m coming in everyday just trying to work, just trying to be the receiver I can be. I know I have a lot of room to grow, but that’s the exciting thing, from what I’ve done so far I can still grow so much higher.
