Bucs third year wide receiver Chris Godwin joined Good Morning Football on Wednesday to talk on a number of topics, including his highlight reel catch from Tuesday’s training camp practice, which was first posted by PewterReport.com

After some discussion about his teammates Jameis Winston and Mike Evans, Godwin then went into why he uses the hashtag “12SZN” as a source of inspiration.

“That’s a thing I’ve been doing for a while now,” Godwin said. “I think it’s very significant for me. I think it’s kind of a mindset for me, kind of like my time is now, not to wait for it, for anybody, just try to get me mine and work for it. Everytime I put twelve-season, that’s more focus on me, and I’ma work to get mine.”

The former Penn State receiver also gave his outlook on the 2019 season with some personal goals in mind.

“I’m excited about this season,” Godwin said. “I’m excited about what the season could bring for myself, I’m excited what this season could bring for my team. I feel like if I go out and do what I need to do, obviously as a receiver I can be over 1,000 yards. I feel like I could of been there last year, so me just trying to get to that point, I think me doing that would really help our team. Like I said, I’m coming in everyday just trying to work, just trying to be the receiver I can be. I know I have a lot of room to grow, but that’s the exciting thing, from what I’ve done so far I can still grow so much higher.

Godwins gonna have a hell of a season. The fact that he is a WR1 or 2 playing in the Slot he’s gonna light things up and we will see why it was ok to let Humphries go find his payday.

@spitfire but according to BAB, we downgraded when we let Humphries go! 😂 Godwin is, barring injury, a 1000yd/10td guy. Loved this pick from day 1.

Godwin’s hands are every bit as reliable as Hump’s, and he’s a better athlete.

Godwin’s route running really separates himself from the rest of the talented WR’s in the league. Once he gains experience he is going to be a force.

I think we’re looking at the next great NFL tandem at WR, Evans and Godwin.

The thing that will make Godwin, and Evans, so great this year is the number of other threats teams have to account for. Normally spreading the ball around means less yards/scores for star receivers, but here it will actually create more for G & E. BP, Watson, Miller, Schnell, Bobo, OJ, Lodge and now Hall (who ever ultimately makes it). Then add the TEs into the passing game with OJ, Brate, Auclair and now Hudson coming on as viable in the mix. And running backs that can actually be a run threat and a quick outlet. The predictable Bucs are… Read more »

Godwin can be a force blocking too which we have never had in the slot before and that will be a big help to our running game. I have been thrilled with Godwin going back to when he was the star that helped Penn State beat USC. Licht got him, which is another successful pick for Licht. Licht is the one who brought tons of diamonds in the rough to us and should be recognized for setting the table for an eventual Super Bowl Win by BA! The fact that BA recognizes Licht as a great GM should convince the… Read more »

Godwin was a steal in 3rd rd. Thanks Licht! All guys constantly bashing Licht and blame him for this teams crappy record last few years….will see after this year. So many players said were “Busts” too will likely be solid now like RoJo and Spence etc etc. list getting long of supposed busts that look great thus far. Not surprising to me with real coaches and better scheme. Go figure. Lol. Koetter and company sucked in lot ways. Smith was lost and just abysmal d coordinator.
