The list of 2020 compensatory draft picks for each NFL team was released on Tuesday and the Tampa Bay Bucs have received pick number 139 in round four. This pick was given to the Bucs for losing Kwon Alexander in free agency when he signed with the NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers.
The NFL awards value to unrestricted free agents – or compensatory free agents – that each team adds or loses in an offseason, and then awards 32 league-wide comped picks for the next draft to teams that the league deems have lost more, or better, free agents than they added.
Officially, the Bucs were given a fourth round pick after losing Kwon Alexander, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Adam Humphries and Adarious Taylor to free agency and gaining Shaquille Barrett, Breshad Perriman, and Bradley Pinion.
The New England Patriots received the highest number of compensatory picks with four. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero has the full list of compensatory picks for each team here.
