Perhaps no team in the NFL has swung their fortunes on paper as much as the Bucs this offseason, as Tampa Bay gears up for a 2020 season with sky-high expectations. The acquisitions of Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and a strong draft class have many thinking ‘Super Bowl’, but head coach Bruce Arians told SiriusXM NFL Radio’s Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan on Wednesday that he is working hard to make sure the team doesn’t lose focus.

“We talked about it in the first meeting,” Arians said. “Every year is a new year, it’s a new team. This team hasn’t done shit. We’ve added some pieces, but we haven’t done anything yet. So we have to go to work every single day and respect the process of coming to work every single day and not listen to all the hype and the outside noise. We gotta go to work every day and things will take care of themselves.”

The Bucs have not had a winning season since 2016 (9-7), their only record better than 7-9 since 2010 when they went 10-6. Tampa Bay hasn’t been to the playoffs since 2007, and hasn’t won a playoff game since their Super Bowl victory over the Raiders in 2002. They begin the 2020 campaign on the road against division rival New Orleans on September 13th.
