Latest Bucs Headlines

Last Sunday the Bucs saw wide receiver Chris Godwin leave the field and not return following a play where he wasn’t contacted. The team revealed he suffered a hamstring injury but had no other information, pending an MRI this week.

On Wednesday morning NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted out that Godwin and the Bucs may have dodged a bullet, although the Pro Bowler will miss some time.

The NFL has seen a rash of devastating injuries early this season, and so far the Buccaneers have avoided anything major. Mike Evans (hamstring) was not 100 percent in Week 1 against the Saints but was able to play, although ineffectively. And Godwin suffered a concussion in the same game, missing the following week’s game against the Panthers.

Starting cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting also left Sunday’s game against Denver with a groin/hamstring injury. So far there have been no updates on Murphy-Bunting who head coach Bruce Arians said would also be getting an MRI.
