Will Gholston has been fined $15,000 by the NFL for a hit he made in the Bucs’ 28-10 victory over the Denver Broncos, according to Mike Klis of 9news.
Catching up: Tampa Bay's William Gholston was fined $15,000 for his roughing the passer penalty on Broncos' Brett Rypien in 4Q of game 3 last week.
Something about Rypien draws the roughing penalties. Jets should have multiple fines coming from Thursday night. #9sports— Mike Klis (@mikeklis) October 4, 2020
The play in question that Gholston got fined for was a roughing the passer penalty after hitting Broncos quarterback Brett Rypien in the fourth quarter of the game. Gholston made the hit on Rypien right after the ball was thrown, but was penalized for putting his weight on the quarterback.
Through three games so far in 2020, this is the first time a Bucs player has been fined this season.
Despite the penalty and fine, Gholston has had a solid year for the Bucs’ defense, recording 10 tackles, three tackles for loss and a sack.
