While the Bucs and Raiders were scheduled to square off on Sunday Night Football in Week 7, a positive COVID-19 test from Las Vegas’ left tackle Trent Brown and the subsequent absence of multiple players from practice as the team follows the NFL’s contact tracing policies, the contest has been re-scheduled. Bucs vs. Raiders was moved to Sunday’s 4:05 p.m. on FOX time slot, while the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals will play at 8:20 p.m. in their place on Sunday Night Football.
The NFL released the following statement regarding the week’s schedule change.
“These decisions were made out of an abundance of caution to ensure that a game would be available for Fans on Sunday Night Football. We expect the Buccaneers-Raiders game to be played on Sunday afternoon. Scheduling decisions are made the ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel and in consultation with medical experts.”
The game won’t be easy to move again if the NFL needs to make a drastic re-scheduling happen. The Raiders have already had their bye week, so there isn’t a week to shift around match-ups like there has been for the other games the league has re-scheduled due to COVID concerns this season.
