It wasn’t a pretty win, but the Buccaneers were able to hold off the now 1-7 New York Giants to head home atop the the NFC South with a 6-2 record.

Below is our weekly list of the most impressive players from Tampa Bay’s 25-23 win.

OLB Jason Pierre Paul

Pierre-Paul came into this game wanting to make a statement against his former team and when the night had ended, he had done just that. Besides his one sack, Pierre-Paul finished the night with seven tackles, including five solo stops and two tackles for loss.

CB Carlton Davis

Davis’ rise to one of the best cornerbacks in the game continued on Monday night, and his interception on the Giants’ first drive after halftime helped swing the momentum in Tampa Bay’s favor. Giants QB Daniel Jones didn’t throw in Davis’ direction often, and for good reason. Davis ended the evening with three tackles, two pass breakups and the one interception.

WR Mike Evans

It wasn’t necessarily a dominating game from Evans, but compared to how his season has gone so far, it was a nice improvement. Besides leading the Buccaneers with 55 yards on five receptions, his second half TD reception was vintage Evans and a much-needed score that gave Tampa Bay a lead that they didn’t relinquish.

K Ryan Succop

Succop has been an answered prayer for Jason Licht and Bruce Arians and has solidified a position that has been a thorn in the side of the organization for a better part of the last six years. Succop was perfect on the night, going 4-for-4 on field goals and also perfect on his two extra point attempts.

S Antoine Winfield Jr.

Winfield Jr. had a good night on Monday against New York and showed the national audience why he should be in the conversation of NFC Defensive Rookie of the Year if he keeps playing as well as he has through the first half of the season. Winfield was tied for the team lead in tackles Monday night with seven, but his breakup of the Giants’ two-point conversion was the game sealer and the most critical play of the night for the Bucs.
