Some good news for the Bucs stemming from Thursday’s practice, as left guard Ali Marpet was a full participant for the second straight day. That marks the first time Marpet has been a back-to-back full participant in practice since his concussion first occurred back in Week 8. Friday’s practice will be a telling one for Marpet’s availability for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.
Unfortunately for the Bucs, starting cornerback Jamel Dean and left tackle Donovan Smith did not practice for the second straight day. Dean is in the concussion protocol, so it would be a surprise if he plays on Sunday. Veteran Ross Cockrell would likely start in his place. As for Smith, he played through a sprained ankle against the Rams, so there’s a chance he could rest it all week and then play on Sunday.
Here’s the full injury report for the week so far, with the Chiefs in excellent health entering Week 12.
